Google founder: the freedom to use the Internet is facing a significant threat

Said Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google in an interview published on Monday, Britain's Guardian newspaper said the principles of openness and universality of use that is based on the basis of which the largest Internet services face risks at all.


Brin said that the threat to freedom of use of the Internet comes from a combination offactors, including increased efforts by governments to control the use of the Internet and telecommunications.

He added that taking place in the entertainment industry's attempts to impose strict measures of privacy and the emergence of walled gardens like Facebook restrictiveand Apple also lead to greater restrictions on the Internet.

Brin said, "there are forces lined up in the face of all aspects of the Internet and in various parts of the world. I am more worried than I was in the past. It's scary. "

He also expressed concern with regard to efforts by countries such as China, Saudi Arabia and Iran in order to restrict and censor the Internet
