The Russian government expects to produce 95 million tons grain of the season (Reuters - Archive)
Likely Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said his country achieved significant growth in production of cereals during the current harvest season to reach 95 million tonnescompared with 61 million tonnes in the previous season.
He said Putin in a meeting with farmers gathered in Moscow to the country's grain harvestreached 91.7 million tons of grain by 12 October / October now, pointing to the continuedharvest in ten plantings.
The Russian government estimates the country's export potential in this area, includingbetween 20 and 23 million tons of grain in the season.
Russia exported more than 10 million tons of grain to world markets since the beginning ofJuly till now.
Wheat represents about 90% of the total exports of Russian grain imported by several countries, including Egypt, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, Libya and some countries of the European Union.
Russia was lifted with effect from the first of July last ban was imposed on grain exports in the past year because of the drought that hit the country, when you can not the countryraised more than 60.9 million tons of grain, or less by 37.3% from the year 2009 .
