A suicide attack targeting the headquarters of the Electoral Commission in South Yemen

A security official said that a suicide bomber blew himself up outside the office of the Electoral Commission of Yemen in the southern city of Aden in the early hours of Tuesday morning and the explosion took place a week before the presidential election to choose a president instead of President Ali Abdullah Saleh .
The official said the bomber was wearing an explosive belt blew up before reaching the Election Commission building in Aden, killing him on the spot without injuring one other.
And Tuesday's attack was the latest sign of opposition to the elections taking place on 21 February, the current by separatists in the south and Shi'ite rebels in the north and Islamist militants courage political turmoil that weakened the central government control in several areas of Sana'a in Yemen.
Last month, unidentified gunmen attacked an office of the Electoral Commission of Yemen in the southern province of Dali.
The official said that he is now sending reinforcements to all offices of the Electoral Commission in Aden.
And a local official said that two soldiers and Islamist fighters killed in clashes during the night in the city of Zanzibar, which is still hard-liners in control of some of its parts.
A spokesman for Ansar al-Sharia, which controls several towns in southern Yemen in a text message that Islamist fighters killed two soldiers.
