Saudi Arabia supports arming the Syrian opposition and withdraw from the Tunis conference

Pulled out of the Saudi delegation withdrew from the meeting of "Friends of Syria" in Tunison Friday to protest what he said was "not effective" meeting, but a Saudi official said onlythat he left to attend the bilateral talks.

Al Arabiya news that Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal left the meeting after he said in his speech that focused on humanitarian aid to Syria, "not enough".

An aide to the Saudi foreign minister, told Reuters in response to a question on the report, "we left to attend bilateral meetings" on the sidelines of the conference.

The withdrawal came after the Saudi Al-Faisal said that to provide the Syrian oppositionfacing a violent crackdown by the forces of President Bashar al-Assad in arms is an excellent idea.
