France says that the election in Russia is not perfect

Said French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe said on Monday that the Russian presidential elections were not perfect, adding his voice to international criticism, but said that France was ready to work with Vladimir Putin.

And highlighted reports of the Council of Europe and the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe highlighted the problems in the elections that took place on Sunday after official results showed Putin's victory by about 64 percent of the vote.

Juppe said during a news conference in the city of Bordeaux in southwestern France "elections were not perfect. This is less to be said."

Juppe said, "Putin was re-elected by a large majority and it will continue to France and its European partners to participate in a relationship with Russia."
