Cairo, Jan. 19 (Reuters) - Al-Ahram newspaper said on Thursday that "radioactive sources" were stolen from a nuclear power plant under construction on the coast of Egypton the Mediterranean has seen violent protests last week.
The newspaper said the Treasury by the radioactive sources were stolen from a nuclearplant Dabaa broke while other treasury of radioactive sources and also took some of its contents.
Al-Ahram said the government informed the security authorities and asked that the teamsof specialists to assist in the search for the stolen items.
And injured more than 10 people last Friday, the military police while trying to disperse hundreds of protesters demanding the Egyptians Dabaa transfer station which is stillunder construction elsewhere.
Al-Ahram said the station staff refused to go to the site because of the deterioratingsecurity situation there.
And about 500 Egyptians protested in front of the station to demand a halt to construction of the project and some of them said they had lost their land which is held by the station.
A security source and witnesses said soldiers from the army threw stones and fired shotswith the protesters after demonstrators destroyed a wall surrounding the site.
