Newsweek magazine reported on its website Friday that the United States allowedIsrael to sell 55 a powerful bomb-proof bunker, and their ability to penetrate high, andcould destroy underground bunkers.
Israel had requested as of 2005 provided that these bombs are called "GBU -28", but the U.S. Department of Defense then froze the project for fear that Israel will conducttechnology transfer to China, according to Newsweek.
The magazine quoted - officials did not reveal their identities - that President George W.Bush was told in the end, then Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert that the bombs would be delivered in 2009-2010.
The Pentagon spokesman George Little comment on the report published byNewsweek magazine, but said the United States remains committed to helping Israelmaintain its military superiority in the region.
The arms sales abroad must be notified to the Congress, which has the power to freeze.
