Naked attempt on Putin’s vote (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

After the Ukrainian activist group Femen disrupted voting at the Moscow polling station where Vladimir Putin cast his ballot on Sunday, Russia’s Federal Migration Service is considering declaring them personae non grata.
Three Ukrainian women posing as reporters entered the polling station, approached the ballot boxes, and then abruptly stripped to the waist.
The topless activists, their chests emblazoned with anti-Putin messages, chanted obscene slogans and lunged at the ballot box just 20 minutes after the premier left the building.
The Femen members then made an apparent attempt to steal the electronic box in which the presidential frontrunner had just cast his ballot, disconnecting it.  The local election committee later took the decision to replace the device.
The activists had the slogan “I steal for Putin” scrawled on their torsos – an apparent satire on the slogan “Tear to shreds for Putin”, used by pro-government movements which have sought to exploit the sexuality of their female activists to whip up support for the Russian leader.
A Moscow court sentenced the women to administrative detention with the offenders getting terms of 5, 10 and 12 days behind bars.
If the Federal Migration Service decides that the presence of FEMEN activists in Russia is undesirable, the  Ukrainians will be expelled and might be barred from entering the country in the future.

Femen is known for their flashy, politically-loaded displays. They started off protesting against sex tourism in Ukraine, but quickly broadened their range of issues to embrace a host of hot topics, from Ukraine’s gas deals with Russia to Belarus’ bid to host the ice hockey world championship.

Who let the dogs vote? The State of New Mexico!

Dogs can vote in New Mexico
Candidates continue to fetch on all fours for votes as they gear up for November, but they will have to try their doggone hardest to win the support of one unlikely ballot caster.
His name is Buddy, and getting his vote is going to be especially ruff.
Buddy might be undecided on which way he’ll be leaning this Election Day for now, but throw him a bone and you might get his vote. Buddy is a dog. A four-legged, floppy-eared, collar-wearing pooch that, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is now registered to vote.
The pup’s owner says he had no problem signing up Buddy to cast a ballot. To KOB Eyewitness News, he says he approached a voter registration booth at the University of New Mexico campus a few weeks ago and wondered if it would be easy to add Buddy’s name to the roster of voters.
To his surprise, it didn’t require that much hounding. Buddy is now a registered voter.
“I made up a birth date, and I made up a Social Security number and I had a voter registration card in my hand for Buddy two weeks later," says the man.
"They should verify.Somebody should have verified this information and somebody should have come out and took a look at exactly who it was,” he adds.
Bernalillo County Clerk's Office tells the news network that they do look over applications that come in, but Buddy’s information must have slipped right under their cold, wet nose. They warn other pooches with potential to go to the polls, however, that Buddy (well, his owner, who is not offering his name) has committed voter fraud. Now one pet owner might end up returning Buddy’s Counter-officiated registration card with his tail between his legs, but frankly, it sounds like the Clerk’s Office’s bark is much worse than their bite.
The owner says he does not intend on voting on behalf of Buddy, but warns, "We're going to have a lot of people that are registered to vote that shouldn't be able to vote.”
Officials from Bernalillo County add that state law does not require proof of a valid Social Security number, date of birth or even your name. Opposable thumbs, the fundamental anatomy to necessitate bipedal locomotion and fewer than four legs are usually favored, though.

Putin declared president-elect

Vladimir Putin secured some 63.7 per cent of vote in Russia's presidential election. The head of Central Election Commission declared him the next president of the country.
The commission has counted more than 99 per cent of the ballots. “As you can see, the election finished in one round,” Vladimir Churov said, as he announced Putin’s landslide victory.
Gennady Zyuganov scored 17.19 percent of the votes. In third place was political newcomer Mikhail Prokhorov, who won 7.87 percent. Vladimir Zhirinovsky and Sergey Mironov won 6.23 and 3.85 per cent of the vote respectively.
Exit polls showed results similar to the CEC’s intermediate data. According to a Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) survey, about 58.3 per cent of Russians cast their votes for Vladimir Putin, while Gennady Zyuganov got the support of 17.7 per cent of the country's voters.Mikhail Prokhorov, Vladimir Zhirinovsky and Sergey Mironov won 9.2, 8.5 and 4.8 per cent of the votes respectively. Around 1.5 per cent of the respondents said they had trashed their ballots.
Vladimir Putin and outgoing president Dmitry Medvedev came out to address thousands of people gathered at Manezhnaya Square. Putin thanked his supporters, telling them, “we have won in an open and fair struggle.”
Russian election authorities continue counting the last 0.5 per cent unaccounted ballots under observer supervision.
According to the preliminary data from Russia’s Central Election Commission, over 63.3 per cent of registered voters went to the polling stations Sunday. The figure is lower than during the previous presidential election, in 2008, but higher than during the parliamentary election in 2011.
Observers reported a number of violations during the vote across the country. Results at one polling station in Dagestan, in the North Caucasus, will be annulled due to a video recorded by one of the webcams. It showed several people casting multiple ballots. Vladimir Putin's campaign headquarters says it will demand the cancelation of results at every polling station where such serious violations are revealed.
Russians have demonstrated an unprecedented level of political engagement leading up to the vote. Hundreds of thousands of independent vote observers were spread nationwide, and every ballot box was under the watchful eye oflive webcams.
The overall organization of the election process and the monitoring system has received positive feedback from the majority of Russian and international independent observers.
Such measures follow allegations of widespread vote violation in a December parliamentary vote leading to a number of mass protests across the country. The authorities tried to satisfy people’s call for fair elections and made the vote as transparent as possible.
Voting opened at 12 pm Moscow time in the country’s most eastern areas, including Chukotka, Magadan, and Kamchatka, and ended at 9 pm in the western Kaliningrad region.
