A new study showed that one in every 20 British believed that the world of physics, mathematics, English Isaac Newton discovered the law of gravity and the laws of movement in the sixteenth century AD, is the husband of singer Olivia Newton-Jones.
The study, published in the Sunday Mirror that a similar percentage of Britons have the impression that the presenter Noel Edmonds TV competitions, invented the TV, not theScottish Guy John Baird in 1925.
And found that a lot of British adults were puzzled when asked about such topics as the solar system, chemistry and biology, and the failure of almost half of them in clarifyingwhat it means carbon emissions.
The study added that one of every 20 British believed that the moon away from Earthsome 238 miles (about 383 km), the closest distance between the capital London andNewcastle, although the actual distance between the Earth and the moon is approximately 239 thousand miles (about 384 thousand km) on average.
She said that a similar proportion of Britons believe that the tsunami made to cleanbeaches.
