Security forces found in the eye of Amnas, large quantities of heavy weapons, including a number of rockets smuggled from Libya during the chaos that followed the overthrow Muammar Gaddafi.
Quoted by Reuters news agency, a security source who declined to reveal his identity, saying that the security forces found the missiles were hidden under the sand in the desert, about 60 kilometers south of Ein Amnas. The source pointed out that the rockets fired from the shoulder, and can be used to shoot down aircraft. He explained that this process enabled the security services to find other weapons, without providing details on the type and number. The only source by emphasizing that this process was based on information provided by one of the smugglers to the security interests in the region recently after his arrest.

It is believed that these missiles had been smuggled from Libya during the crisis, the security of this country, after the leak of weapons to civilians and the rebels, who have worked to bring down the regime of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. Algeria was the number of Arab countries and the countries of the Sahel, have expressed fears that the arrival of large quantities of weapons smuggled from Libya to the so-called "al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb", and the potential for use against civilian and military targets fixed or mobile.
The UN Security Council has expressed concern earlier in the risk of the spread of weapons that were in warehouses Gaddafi, and called for action to prevent their spread.
It should be noted that the security state of Illizi, dismantled several networks that are active in the neighboring states of Libya. These networks consist of Algerians and Malians and Nigerians, who were smuggling weapons from Libya towards the Algerian desert, and then converted to the coast to be sold for "al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb."
