The assistant coroner Ed Winter said the victim's identity may be determined through the teeth or fingerprints of the hands that were found near the head, investigators Wednesday.
Police said the victim may have been killed elsewhere and quoted parts of his body to the path leading to the famous painting that captures pictures of her millions of tourists annually.
She explained that these body parts appear to be cut off "recently."
